Project outlines

A new building that incorporates skylights to allow natural daylight into the workplace and applies Nedap Luxon technology to use its full potential.

Saving energy now also means improved safety!'

"We opted for this solution because it enables us to make savings by using dimmable lighting in areas that are not used very often and at times of the day when the lighting does not need to be at full output." Both Nedap and the warehouse UK are proud of the results. The advanced lighting system, which uses 308 luminaires with dimmable ballasts and is directly suspended from a bus bar carrying 230V main power and integral low voltage control signals. Maximum lighting control is achieved with an illuminance of 280-300 lux and lux sensors, maintaining illuminance levels at 400 lux. When no-one is in the warehouse, lamp power reduces to 50% of the full output. As soon as someone walks into the aisles, the lamps are immediately increased to 100% output immediately.

Better light works
Tests indicate that human error is reduced by 50% when light sources are operated at high frequencies (no flickering of light). The Nedap Luxon electronic ballast 250-2000W (combined with improved lumen performance HID lamps) generates the flicker-free light and the higher light levels that improve overall employee performance and helps to prevent accidents and human error. Better light works! And Nedap knows how.

Key achievements

  • Better constant light
  • Higher light levels, better CRI
  • Improved safety due to high frequency light
  • Energy savings by means of dimming and daylight harvesting
  • Double the lifespan of ordinary lamps
  • Increased light output of up to 15%
  • Excellent rate of return
